- W2356193442 abstract "This study w as conducted to evaluate the effect of different levels of phytoecdysteroids on in vitro rumen fermentation and methane production. In vitro gas production method was used. Ruminal fluid was collected from 4 limousin bullocks with permanent rumen fistula, the fermentation substrate of five treatments were supplemented with0%, 0.001%, 0.01%, 0.1% and 1% phytoecdysteroids respectively. The results showed that in 24 h, there was no statistical difference of methane production among treatments. The concentrations of ammonia nitrogen in treatments with the phytoecdysteroids level of greater than or equal to 0.01% tended to be higher than those in control group and0.001% group(P=0.055). DM degradation in groups with phytoecdysteroids level of less than 1% was lower than that in control group. In 72 h, there was no significant difference of gas production among treatments. The rates of gas production in 0.001% and 0.01% groups were lower than those in other groups(P 0.05). The time for microbe adapted to fermentation substrate was shortest in 1% group(P0.01). In 1% group, the proportion of propionate was significantly higher than that in 0.001% group(P 0.05) and the content of total volatile fatty acid was significantly higher than that in the control group(P0.05). The results indicated that phytoecdysterids has no significant effect on the production of methane and total gas, low dose group could reduce the rates of gas production and dry matter digestibility, 1% group reduced the lag time and increased the total volatile fatty acid content." @default.
