- W2356281415 abstract "The purpose of the given study is to disclose the effects of different volume fraction of acetonitrile, temperature and pH levels on the hydrolysis rate of fenoxaprop-p-ethyl (FE).As is known,FE is an aryloxyphenoxypropionate herbicide for selective control of various annual and perennial grass weeds and has been widely used in many countries as a kind of pesticide. In the FE degradation, hydrolysis is a main degradation pathway due to its structure of ester, which can be catalyzed by acid or acid-base.The results of our experimental research shows that the hydrolysis of FE tends to follow the first-order kinetics at different conditions.Firstly of all,FE hydrolysis rate turns to decrease with the increase of the ratio of acetonitrile.Secondly, temperature also serves as a remarkable factor affecting the degradation rate of FE.Thirdly, the activation energy of FE has been found to be 97.4 kJ/(mol·K) at pH=9.The magnitude of its activation energy proves to be highly sensitive and responsible for the temperature change.Fourthly,FE was relatively stable in weak acid solution (pH=6.0),whose stability turns to change with the decrease or increase of pH.Therefore,in the pH range under study,it turns to exhibit characteristics of acid and,especially,alkaline-catalyzed hydrolysis. In addition, the hydrolysis rate constant of FE can be taken as a function of temperature and pH and used mathematically to predict the hydrolytic dissipation of FE.Furthermore, the hydrolysis metabolites of FE can be identified by means of the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry." @default.
