- W2356296434 abstract "Taizhou Port is an important regional hub port in the mid-coastal area of Zhejiang Province.The existing port infrastructure can no longer meet the requiments of fast developing economy,and thus a port is proposed to be constructed on the north side of the Toumen Island,Taizhouwan Bay.The port will be connected with mainlang via highway.This study includes the structure of the highway,i.e.solid dyke og a combination of dyke and bridge and the impacts of different structure on the flow field of the Taizhouwan Bay.Hydrologic and underwater topographic data are collected and used in the study,and large-range two-dimensional plane mathematical model of the tidal current is built-up and identified with calculation of the process of the tidal level and flow speed and direction with observed data and the movement features of the tidal current in the bay are simulated.The results show that the tidal power on either side of a solid dyke highway decreases and that on the southern side decreases remarkably,with a decrease range of more than 5%,in which the planned inner dock wharf is in an area with a decrease of more than 20%.The contour of 10% decrease of the tidal power lines in the waters near the Nanshan Island.The tidal power at the southeastern side of Baisha Island has a tiny increase.In the area to the north of the highway and east of Beiyangtu,tidal power reduces significantly,with the contour of 5% decrease at 4 km east of Beiyangtu dike.Tidal power in the tidal channel among Toumen,Dongji,Tian'ao,Shitan Islands increases in varying degrees of more than 2%,the water area with an increase of more than 5% at the north side of Dazhu hill is nearly 22 km2.The tidal power along a dike-bridge combination highway will have a slightly greater variation.It decreases remarkably at the east side of Beiyangtu.The area with a decrease range of more than 5% is limited within 2 km to the east of the embankment.There is a zonal power decreasing area centered at the northeastern corner of Dazhu hill at an azimuth of about 350°.The bandwidth of about 2% decrease is about 1.5 km,and the farthest location of a 5% decrease is about 2.2 km frm Dazhu hill.The flow speed decrease area is at the eastern side of the flood-tide current of the bridge part of the highway and there is a deposition trend there.The power decreasing area to the north of the highway from Dazhu hill to Toumen Island is in half dumbbell shape.The narrowest part between the 5% decrease contour and the highway or the island is only 300 m widest part only about 700 m,The tidal power decreasing area are all shallow waters.In waters to the east of Toumen Island and in the tidal channel to the northeast of the island the tidal power slightly increases;and that near Xiaozhu hill slightly increases too.Overall,the program does not result in tidal power variation in waters to the north of Toumen Island unfavourable to the port development.Analysis of flow field and tidal power variation for different scheme shows that solid dike highway will result in rather remarkable decrease of the tide-flow speed in the project area,which will lead to serious deposition of the dock wharf and navigation channel.The Port Highway with 2 km bridge between Jiqin hill and Dazhu hill and solid dike between Dazhu hill and Toumen Island is good for the development of port resources.Studies show that from the point of tidal current and silt,the water area to the north of Toumen Island is suitable for port construction." @default.
