- W2357185631 abstract "Objective To investigate the effect of different volumes of fluid resuscitation on small intestine basic electrical rhythm in rats with endotoxin-induced shock. Methods Endotoxin shock model was established in72 Sprague-Dawley rats and randomly divided into four groups:group fluid resuscitation 20,group fluid resuscitation 30,group fluid resuscitation 40(the speeds of fluid resuscitation were 20,30,40mL·kg-1·h-1,respectively and vasoactive agents were applied to maintain a target blood pressure ranged from 60 to 90mmHg[1mmHg=0.133kPa]if necessary)and group non-fluid resuscitation(only vasoactive agents were applied to maintain a target blood pressure ranged from 60 to 90 mmHg).The slow-wave amplitude, frequency, and the coefficients of variation of the amplitude and frequency were measured in each group before shock(T1),immediately after shock(T2)and 2hafter shock(T3).The ratio of intestinal dry-wet weight and pathological changes were examined at T1 and T3.Results The amplitude and frequency of intestinal slow-wave in four groups at T2 were significantly lower than those at T1,while the variation coefficients of slow-wave amplitude and frequency at T2 were significantly higher than those at T1(all P0.01).The amplitude and frequency of intestinal slow-wave in group fluid resuscitation 20 and 30at T3 were significantly higher than those at T2 and those in groupnon-fluid resuscitation at T2,while the variation coefficients of slow-wave amplitude and frequency at T3 were significantly lower than those at T2 and those in group non-fluid resuscitation at T2(all P0.05).The ratio of intestinal dry-wet weight in group fluid resuscitation 40 at T3 was significantly higher than that at T1 and that in the other 3groups at T3(all P0.05).The scores of intestinal mucosal injury in group fluid resuscitation 20,30and40 were much lower than that in group non-fluid resuscitation(all P0.05).Conclusion The intestinal basic electrical rhythm is inhibited after endotoxin-induced shock in rats.Moderate and small volume of fluid resuscitation can restore intestinal basic electrical rhythm. However,a large volume of fluid resuscitation(40 mL/h)may decrease intestinal basic electrical activity by worsening intestinal edema." @default.
