- W2357465778 abstract "Objective The basic information of the nutritional status of primary and middle school students of Qidong County, to provide evidence for scientific instruction. Method From 1998 through 2003, survey was carried out among 41,551 students according to collect their height and weight data, and their nutritional status were analyzed with standard (height)-weight method. Results The malnutrition rate was 25.01% rate and obesity was 8.05%, both showed increasing trend (P0.01). The malnutrition rate of girls was higher than that of boys, secondary school higher than high school,high school higher than primary school(P0.01). The obesity rate of boys was higher than that of girls, primary school students higher than that of secondary schools. Secondary schools higher than high schools (P0.01). Conclusion The preventive work of students'malnutrition in Qidong County is far from the aims set by “The national prevention schemes against malnutrition among students.” More efforts should be paid to students'nutrition and health care and more support is expected from schools,parents and all the social workers." @default.
