- W2357903369 abstract "To understand the present situation of obesity and overweight among the teen-agers and explore their relationship with the nutritional composition of the Western style fast-food which had good sale volume. Students were investigated with questionares.Height and weight of students were got form the school doctor's recent file. Appraising was based upon standard height-weight index of Chinese students form 7～22 years old from the Ministry of Health.The fast-food samples were randomly drawn form 3 fast-food restaurants and the 24 samples were weighted and analyzed with the SY-2 nutrition software. The evaluation criterion referred to the Chinese resident meals nutrition DRIs. The prevalence rate of student's obesity and overweight in this area was 22.22% and 11.36% respectively.The proportion of fast-food intake among primary and middle school students was 86.60%. Obesity and overweight had nothing to do with the kinds of the Western fast-food(P0.05).But they were related to the number of fast-food intake per month(P0.05).Contrasting with DRIs the nutrient content of both Chinese and Western style fast-food was not reasonable. [Conclusion] Fast-food with high fat is one of the important factors for obesity and overweight.We should launch health education to improve the consciousness of teen-agers to care for their own health,to make reasonable and scientific selection of fast-food." @default.
