- W2358166249 abstract "Objective To study the influence of Simvastain on insulin sensitivity (ISI) of patients with acute coronary syndrome. Methods The levels of fasting serum lipids (TC, TG, LDL-C, HDL-C), fasting blood glucose (FBG) and fasting blood insulin (FINS) were determined in 20 normal control and 40 cases of acute coronary syndrome. Then, 40 cases of acute coronary syndrome were divided into two groups by using a randomized, control and single blind method, Simvastain group(n=20) and routine treatment group (n=20). With a treatment course of 4 weeks for both groups, the above indices were determined again. Results The insulin sensitivity index (ISI) was lower in patients with acute coronary syndrome than those in the normal control (P＜0.05). Later 4 weeks after the treatment, ISI significantly increased in Simvastain group (P＜0.05), but ISI showed no significantly in routine treatment group (P＞0.05). Conclusion Insulin resistance exists in patients with acute coronary syndrome. Simvastain can improve the ISI of patients with acute coronary syndrome." @default.
