- W2358722511 abstract "Objective To investigate the difference in amplitude of accommodation (AMP) between emmetropic (Emm) and myopic (MYO) subjects with three methods of push-up test, minus-lens test and infrared optometer. Methods Twenty-three (Emm) and 17 (MYO) volunteers, age from 9~13 years old [average age:(10.76±1.855)years], participated in this study. The subject’s AMP were measured by push-up test, minus-lens test and infrared optometer methods. Results With the sequence of push-up, minus-lens and infrared optometer methods, average AMP for Emm were (14.13±2.16)D,(9.15±1.99)D,(7.36±1.23)D; and for MYO were (14.39±2.94)D,(9.79±1.65)D,(8.32±0.66)D,respectively. The differences among push-up, minus-lens and infrared optometer methods were both significant among Emm group (P=0.000,0.000,0.003,respectively) and among MYO group (P=0.002,0.002,0.036,respectively). The AMP between Emm and MYO was only significantly difference in the infrared optometer method (P=0.006).Conclusion This study indicated that the differences AMP testing methods may give out different AMP reading. Push-up test, minus-lens test possibly overestimate the amplitude but infrared optometer underestimate the amplitude. Myopia children has slightly higher AMP than Emmetropia ones." @default.
