- W2359359875 abstract "Abundant meta-mafic rocks are distributed in the Haiyangsuo town of the Sulu ultrahigh-pressure metamorphic belt as irregular lenses or layers within the gneisses. These meta-mafic rocks are mainly composed of red-eye cycle meta-gabbros and( garnet) amphibolites. Based on the characteristics of major and trace elements, the meta-mafic rocks in the studied area can be divided into two types. Group A is characterized by enrichments of LREE in the chondrite-normalized REE patterns and negative anomalies of Nb,Ta,Zr,Hf and Ti in the primitive mantle-normalized trace element diagrams, which are similar to the features of IAB. Whereas group B is characterized by relatively flat patterns in the chondrite-normalized REE diagrams and primitive mantlenormalized trace element diagrams and weakly negative anomalies of Nb,Ta,Zr,Hf and Ti,which are almost consistent with those of E-MORB. All the meta-mafic rocks are tholeiites series and some of them may be related to island arc setting, whereas others are associated with mid-ocean ridge setting. According to petrography, mineral phase transformation, metamorphic reactions and pressuretemperature estimation, two periods of metamorphism have been recognized in the meta-mafic rocks. The first period of metamorphism( M1) shows middle to high-pressure granulite-facies metamorphic event, and the second period of metamorphism include a peak metamorphic stage( M12) and a late amphibolite-facies retrograde stage( M22). P-T conditions for each stage were estimated using thermo-dynamical and experimental geothemometers and geobarometers. Corase-grained mineral assemblage of garnet( Grt1) +clinopyroxene( Cpx1) + plagioclase( Pl1) ± quartz is regarded as the typical mineral assemblage of peak metamorphic stage of M1 and yielded P-T conditions of 725 ~ 845℃ and 9. 5 ~ 12. 4kbar. The peak metamorphic stage of the second period of metamorphism( M12)is characterized by red-eye cycletexture and typical fine-grained mineral assemblage of garnet( Grt12) + clinopyroxene( Cpx12) +plagioclase( Pl12) ± quartz, which formed at 765 ~ 845℃ and 14. 8 ~ 17. 5kbar. The mineral assemblage of green amphibole( Amp22)+ plagioclase( Pl22) ± quartz ± garnet( Grt22) as matrix minerals and symplectites indicate that the late amphibolite-facies retrograde stage( M22) occurred at P-T condition of 575 ~ 680℃ and 6. 0 ~ 8. 0kbar. These data suggest that the meta-mafic rocks in Haiyangsuo town record a clockwise P-T path including near-isothemal decompression( ITD) to decompression cooling evolutional process. The PT conditions and metamorphic evolution recorded by the meta-mafic rocks in the Haiyangsuo town are clearly different from those of the Sulu UHP metamorphic belt. Combined with the previously and presently reported Neoarchean to Paleoproterozoic protolith, and metamorphic ages,we conclude that the meta-mafic rocks in the Haiyangsuo town might be from ancient metamorphic basement in Jiaobei terrane of the North China Craton, and participated in the Dabie-Sulu orogenic event in the middle to upper Triassic. This achievement has an important scientific significance for revealing the genetic mechanism of meta-mafic rocks and country rocks in the Haiyangsuo and its adjacent area, also revealing the evolution process of the ancient basement in Jiaobei area and Dabie-Sulu ultrahigh-pressure metamorphic belt." @default.
