- W2359531791 abstract "With the development of globalization and tourism industry, visitors are ever-increasingly going to public tourism spots. This may threaten the integrity of natural, cultural, economy and the quality of visitors' experience.Scientists and managers have adopted the concept of separating visitors from some particular spots in order to balance the loads of each spot in Jiuzhaigou Valley in Sichuan Province.A new management mode called 'Space-Temporal Separate Navigation Management Technology System(STSNMTS)' was proposed in this study to alleviate increasingly severe effects. The study was to address the problems by three steps:the initial stage, the steady stage, and the final stage. The authors investigated the temporal and spatial characteristics of tourists' distributions of different spots in the tourist season based on a comprehensive investigation and a quantitative analysis by computer simulation on the loads of some of the key spots in Jiuzhaigou. The numerical results from the simulation indicated that the tourists' stream has formed a particular distribution in different periods of time. This resulted in a high tourist flow volume in some spots, and may cause loads to exceed their capacity. As such, the contradiction between harmonious development of tourism and economy caused by the diversity of loads among a verity of spots was pointed out.A mathematical model for balancing tourism spots' loads was constructed subsequently, which was considered as good as a commonly used method to solve this kind of problem. Moreover, the authors made predictions of a program for dynamic task scheduling problems to solve the mathematical model.A vehicle route problem was combined with the forecast scheduling problems to implement the operation of the dispatcher. It is noted that the assumed conditions in this study would affect the applicability of the proposed model;therefore, the model parameters would be properly adjusted in terms of behavior characteristics of tourists. It should also be pointed out that as an exploratory study on analog simulation, the applicability and operability of the proposed methods needs to be further verified by being applied to more scenic spots. The study belongs to one portion of the theoretical base of temporal and spatial navigation. The new management mode is a supplement and an improvement to the structural modes system of current tourism commodities, and would successfully direct tourism spot programs. In summary, the study would be greatly helpful for protection and sustainable development of the eco-environment in Jiuzhaigou and also provide meaningful reference for destination management." @default.
