- W2359684345 abstract "As the two kinds of important strategies for firms to acquire human resource,internal promotion and external recruitment have respectively their own advantages and disadvantages.Recently,more and more firms have utilized external recruitment to enhance organizational flexibility and reduce administrative costs.However, the benefits of internal promotion strategy including consistent organizational core,enhanced employees' loyalty, advanced specific human capital,greater stabilityand predictability of a firm's stock of skills and capabilities may bring sustainable competitive advantage for company.In reality,firms should utilize the two strategies according to the given situation.Thus this paper has generalized the situations fitting for internal promotion strategy depending on the decision rules such as firm's assumption on HR,the aim to acquire HR,the value,uniqueness and acquirability of HR.Then,the configurations of staffing,training,appraisal,and reward practices are suggested to build internal promotion mechanism." @default.
