- W2359808009 abstract "Objective To explore the clinical effect of lamivudine therapy on patients with chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection and its mechanisms of the immunological state, level of HBV DNA and YMDD mutation. Methods Changes of ALT, HBV DNA and YMDD mutation of 50 patients at 12, 24, 36, 48 weeks before and after oral administration of lamivudine were determined and levels of HBV DNA and YMDD mutation were detected with quantitative PCR. Results Before the therapy, 3 cases were of anti Hbe positive, 47 cases of HBeAg positive. After the therapy, 9 cases of HBeAg negative were found. Four cases of YMDD, 11 cases of YMDD+YVDD mutations were found in pretreated patients. After 36～48 weeks of therapy, HBV DNA of 14 cases increased prominently, but YIDD mutation was found in only 3 cases with increased ALT which was not higher than the pretreatment base line. Conclusion Lamivudine is effective though the mutations and breakthrough are present. The effects of YVDD mutations are slight but attention should be paid to YIDD mutation." @default.
