- W2360191680 abstract "In order to develop the wave power generation device suitable for China's sea conditions, the College of Engineering of the Ocean University of China carried out a series of researches on the combined floating buoy generator. On December 2012, the physical model experiment of this device was conducted in the flume of the Shandong Ocean Engineering Key Laboratory. During the experiment, two types of buoy models were established,consisting of the cylinder one and the tapered-bottom-cylinder one. Except the study on the motion response of the buoy without a power take-off system, the hydrodynamic characteristics were also studied when there is a power take-off system. The gear and rack system is adopted to simulate the system. In addition, the motion performances of the buoy when moving upside and downside were respectively studied using two groups of torque sensors and acquisition equipment. It is found that the efficiency of the buoy is at least related to 5 factors: the buoy's shape, the buoy's mass, the wave height, the wave period and the load on the buoy. Experiment results indicate that the performance of the tapered-bottom-cylinder buoy is better than that of the cylinder buoy, with the optimal cone angle of around 120°, that the resonance relationship between the buoy's mass and the wave period is influenced by the load on the buoy, and that the movement characteristics of the buoy and the wave height have approximate positive correlation." @default.
