- W2360584902 abstract "O bj ective To evaluate the relationship between congenital bronchogenic cyst(CBC)a nd pulmonary hypoplasia and CBC's surgical treatment.Methods From1993to2 002,32patients,including14cases of central congenital intrapulmonary br onchogenic cysts(CCBC)as well as18peripheral cysts of the lung(PCBC),and 18normal lung samples as controls were obtained.Radial alevolar count (RAC) was measured by the method of EmeryMithal.Numbers of pulmonary arteries above sixth degree per unit visula field was counted,and elastic fibers in these art eries were stained specially.Total lung capacity(TLC)and ventilatory capacity (VC)were obtained in followed-up cases.Results As compared with control gro up,the patients had lower RAC,decreased pulmonary arteries value by number,RA C value in CCBC was lower than that in PCBC,multp rupture of inter and exter el astica in these arteries,degeneration and thicking of smooth muscles in arteria l canal wall.TCL and VC in the extripation and lobectomy group were respective ly97%～98%and85%～90%of that as controls.Conclusion CBC leads to pu lmonary hypoplasia,early the operative excision as early as possible is recomme nded." @default.
