- W2360876338 abstract "This paper points out that medicinal herbs are closely related to the vigorous emergence and gradual maturity of the landscape poetry during the Mediaeval Times in China. In order to shake off disease and maintain good health, people at that time were crazy about gathering and taking a medicinal herb named Hanshisan, which is composed of amethyst, sulphur, and so on. They made light of trekking a long distance to pick it from mountains, lakes, rivers and islands, which enhanced their inter-est in landscape. As a result, there existed a direct connection between medicinal herbs, rural landscape, and landscape poetry. Especially, by the end of Jin Dynasty and at the beginning of Song Dynasty, people frequently gathered the medicinal herb and took it quite often. It was at that time that Chinese scholars' aesthetic interest in rural landscape was established, while the culti-vation of their aesthetic taste of landscape formed the basis of the development of landscape poetry." @default.
