- W2360885003 abstract "Traditionally,the multi-field couplings in rock masses designate the coupled processes among stress field,seepage field,thermal field and chemical field.These coupled THMC processes are involved in the formation and the whole evolution process of rock masses,with complex coupling mechanisms and under the impacts of their geological features and geological environments.Considering that the engineering disturbances resulted from blasting excavation,bolt reinforcement,consolidation grouting and rapid drawdown of reservoir water level,etc.have drastic influences on the geological features and the mechanical and engineering properties of rock masses,the engineering disturbances are integrated into the multi-field coupling system and the novel concept of generalized multi-field couplings is proposed.The fundamental concepts of complex rock masses,multi-field couplings and engineering disturbances involved in the generalized multi-fields coupling processes are systematically demonstrated,the main research issues and methodologies are presented,and several applications of the theory to rock engineering are briefly illustrated.It has been shown that,though based on the multi-fields coupling theory,the generalized multi-fields couplings place more emphases on the effects of engineering disturbances and the objectives of rock utilization and alteration in engineering.Research on the multi-field coupling processes in rock masses has not only important scientific significance in understanding the deformation and failure mechanisms as well as the evolution of stability of rock masses,but also wide perspectives in various rock engineering applications." @default.
