- W2361428788 abstract "Aim: To investigate the efficacy and safety of levobupivacaine used for lumbar epidural anesthesia.Methods: A total of 60 patients (ASA Ⅰ～Ⅱ, undergoing elective lower abdominal or lower extremity operations) were randomly divided into group Ⅰ and Ⅱ (30 in each group). In both groups the lumbar epidural anesthesia was performed at the L_ 2～3 interspace by using epidural catheter.Patients of group Ⅰ and group Ⅱ received 17 ml of 7.5 g/L and 5 g/L levobupivacaine epidurally in 2 minutes,respectively. Sensory and motor block, ECG, x_ O_2and the changes of hemodynamics at 10 min,20 min,30 min,60 min and 90 min after injection were observed.The anesthetic efficacy and the condition of abdominal muscle relaxation were assessed. The adverse effects were recorded during anesthesia.Results: The onset time of sensory block was significantly shorter in group Ⅰ than that in group Ⅱ(P0.05). There were no significant difference in the time of maximum spreading, maintenance time and extent of sensory block between the 2 groups; the maintenance time of motor block was significantly longer in group Ⅰ than that in group Ⅱ(P0.05). There were no significant differences in the onset time and degree of motor block between the 2 groups. Compared with those before injection in the 2 groups,the p_ SB, p_ DB,and p_ MA decreased gradually. The f_H increased at 10 min after injection and decreased after 60 min,90 min in 2 groups, which was significantly different from that before injection (P0.05).The superior rate of anesthesia was 100% in both groups.For lower abdominal operation,the superior rate and muscle relaxation of group Ⅰ was significantly better than those of group Ⅱ (P0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions was low in both groups.Conclusion: Levobupivacaine for lumbar epidural block is safe,effective and feasible for lower abdominal and lower extremity operation,and 7.5 g/L levobupivacaine is an appropriate dose for lower abdominal operation." @default.
