During jointing stage to 20 DPA(days after anthesis) , the wheat was waterlogged. And sugars contents, as well as enzyme activities involving in fructan metabolism in the culm were monitored to investigate the effects of waterlogging on accumulation and redistribution of water soluble carbohydrate. Total soluble sugar contents in the culm were increased by waterlogging?except during 10～15 DPA. Activities of SST (Sucrose: sucrose fructosyl transferase) and FFT(Fructan: fructan fructosyltransferase) , the key enzymes involving in fructan synthesis, were decreased by waterlogging. Fructan accumulating rate and duration were depressed consequently. FEH (Fructan exo hydrolase) activity was also decreased by waterlogging. The relationships between metabolism of fructan and waterloging resistance, as well as yield of wheat were further discussed." @default.
