- W2361742321 abstract "Objective To investigate the epidemiological characteristic and resistance of hospital-acquired infection in the elderly patients with methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus(MRSA) and to evaluate the therapeutic effect and drug safety of Linezolid in MRSA infection. Methods A retrospective investigation method was used to collect data of 93 hospital-acquired infection cases from February 2010 to June 2011 in order to understand the distribution, infection risk factors of MRSA and antibiotics-use.Then retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data about 31 patients with hospital-acquired MRSA infection treated with linezolid and 27 patients with hospital-acquired MRSA infection treated with vancomycin.Therapeutic efficiency, bacterial clearance and adverse effects of linezolid and vancomycin for hospital-aquired MRSA infection were compared. Results The infection rate of MRSA in the Department of Respiratory Medicine was the highest than any other departments, which accounting for 23.7%(22/93).Lower respiratory tract was the main infection site, accounting for 62.4%(58/93).There were several factors associated with prognosis according to multivariate analysis:People who were in hospital more than 4 weeks, who were treated with broad-spectrum antibiotics more than 2 weeks, who have serious brain disease, and patients with mechanical ventilation.Linezolid group:cure rate was 87.1%,bacterium clearance rate was 90.3% and adverse-effect was found in 5 out of the 31 cases.Vancomycin group:cure rate was 51.8%,bacterium clearance rate was 40.7%,and adverse-effect was found in 4 out of the 27 cases, and the cure rate, bacterium clearance rate and adverse effect between the two groups showed statistically significant differences(χ2=9.251,19.521 and 4.566,P0.05).Conclusion The key measures to prevent hospital-acquired infection MRSA are susceptible patient taking effective disinfection, reducing invasive procedures and using antibiotics drugs rationally.Linezolid has advantages compared with Vancomycin in clinical using which including therapeutics-choice and safety-concern for gerontal-patients with MRSA infection." @default.
