- W2361992389 abstract "To probe into the application of the Jungmann formula, the Graded Exercise Testing (GXT) was used to examine 139 subjects (male: 111, female: 28. 13～75 years old) on cycle ergometers or treadmills. The THR of each of the 4 groups were calculated, and compared with the Jungmann formula. The results showed that both the 170-age and the 180-age formulas might be used in the and over groups. And in the submaximal group only the 170-age formula could be used. Both formulas may not be used in the symptom limited maximal group. The subjects's age, exercise history and health outcome are the important factors for screening subjects. It was suggested that if the subjects are young, healthy and active, the Jungmann formula could be used to calculate their THR. In the elder subjects, or subjects without exercise habit or with some chronic diseases, the 170-age formula can be used. As for the patients with chronic cardiovascular diseases, exercise prescriptions should be designed after the GXT was done." @default.
