- W2362427138 abstract "Objective To determine the relationship between C825T polymorphism in G protein beta 3 subunit(GNB3) gene and weight gain during pregnancy and postpartum obesity of Han nationality population in Wenzhou.Methods This study included 309 female patients who were divided into postpartum obesity group and postpartum normal weight controls.Genotype was determined by PCR/RFLP.Results(1) TT genotype in postpartum obesity group increased significantly(P0.01) .Odds Ratio(OR) (TT/CT) for postpartum obesity was 2.6(95% CI 1.4-4.6,P0.01) OR(TT/CC) for postpartum obesity was 2.6(95% CI 1.3-5.1,P0.01) ;OR(allele T/C) for postpartum obesity was 1.5(95% CI 1.1～2.1,P0.01) (2) The TT genotype carriers gained more weight than CC and CT genotype carriers(P0.001) ,and CT carriers gained more weight than CC carriers(P0.01) ;In addition,the weight gain of TT genotype carriers was significantly higher than that of CC and CT genotype carriers(P0.001) ,the differences between weight gain of CT genotype carriers and that of CC carriers were not significant(P=0.076) .Conclusion GNB3 825T allele is positively associated with increased weight gain during pregnancy and postpartum obesity.GNB3 825T T genotype may be used as genetic marker in predicting the risk of developing postpartum obesity of Han nationality population." @default.
