- W2362798049 abstract "Objective To investigate the effects of electro-acupuncture(EA) combined with repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation(rTMS) on expression of NeuN after focal cerebral is-chemia in adult rats and the mechanism of EA combined with rTMS in treating ischemic brain injury. Methods The models were made with the middle cerebral artery occlusion. All the 120 one Wistar rats were randomly divided into normal group, model group,EA group,rTMS group and EA combined with rTMS group. The expressions of neuronal nuclear antigen(NeuN) and NeuN/BrdU in different encephalic regions of ipsilateral hemispheres were detected by immunohisto-chemical staining and the neurologic impairment rating was observed at the 7th,14th and 28th days after infarction respectively. Results The number of NeuN increased at day 7 after MCAO(P0.05),reached maximum at day 14(P0.05),and decreased markedly at day 28,but it was still elevated compared with that in normal group. There were significant increase in EA group,rTMS group and EA+rTMS group, but no more so much increase in model group, and not more differences between EA and rTMS groups;there were significant differences between EA,rTMS and EA =rTMS groups with model group at day 7 and 14(P0.05).There were significant differences between EA +rTMS group and EA and rTMS groups(P 0.05).However,there were no statistic differences compared in EA,rTMS and EA+rTMS groups and model group at day 28(P0.05).The improvement of neural motor function was much better in EA,rTMS and EA+rTMS groups compared with model group(P0.01),and it was the most obvious in EA+rTMS group. Conclusion EA combined with rTMS can promote the functional recovery after cerebral arterial thrombosis, promote the expression of NeuN in different encephalic regions of ipsilateral hemispheres, which may be one of the important mechanisms of EA combined with rTMS in treating ischemia brain injury." @default.
