- W2362886427 abstract "The observation method of fixed position was used to study the characteristics of ecological environment in closing process of engineering young forest of Pinus massoniana Lamb from 1991 to 1996. in southeastern Guangxi. The result indicated: ①There was almost no difference in main meteorlogical elements between new timberland and shurb-grass land of 1～3 a. After 4 a, humitity gradually increased and temperature dropped in the engineering young forest of Pinus massoniana Lamb, and after 6 a the forest became matured. ②The soil and water losses of young timberland were 338.59～2 136.92 t/hm 2 a, runoff coefficient was 2.14%～21.50%, and was 12.5%～28.4% lower than that of shrub-grass land. The soil erosion in new timberland was 112.9%～214.5% higher than that in shrub-grass land from 1 a to 3 a, but was gradually reduced after 4 years and was 18.2% lower than that in shrub-grass land in a 6. ③Soil physical properties of young timberland were improved in a 6, but the main nutrient contents in soil (organic maters, N,P and K) were 4.3～7.0% lower than those before afforestation. ④Volume of timber was 36.16 m 3/hm 2 in a 6. and the ratio of cost with income was 2.99.
