- W2363062542 abstract "Objective:To evaluate the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of the Perceived Devaluation-Discrimination Scale( PDD) in community population. Methods: By stratified multistage cluster sampling method,1621 residents aged ≥ 18 years w ere selected. They w ere investigated with the PDD and the questionnaire about aw areness of mental health. Forty percent of 1621 residents selected randomly w ere diagnosed with the Structured Clinical Interview for Diagnostic and Statistical M anual of M ental Disorders-Fourth Edition( DSM-IV) Axis I Disorders-Patient Edition( SCID-I / P). At last, there w ere 401 residents without any mental disorder diagnoses and 267 residents with any mental disorder diagnoses. Internal homogeneity of PDD w as analyzed by calculating Cronbach' s α coefficient and correlation coefficients betw een the PDD global and item scores. Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis w as used to examine the factor structure of PDD. In the group without any DSM-IV diagnosis, multiple linear regression w as used to analyze the correlated factors of PDD total score. Results: The Cronbach' s α coefficient of PDD w as 0. 70 and the correlation coefficients betw een the PDD global and item scores w ere( 0. 31-0. 56). When tw o-factor model w as fixed, exploratory factor analysis extracted 2 components representing the positively and negatively w orded items respectively. One-factor( perceived devaluation-discrimination) and 2-factor( perceived devaluation, perceived discrimination) confirmatory factor analytic models fit the data w ell( GFI = 0. 96,TLI = 0. 83,CFI = 0. 88,RM SEA = 0. 06; GFI = 0. 97,TLI = 0. 84,CFI = 0. 89,RM SEA = 0. 06) w hen adjusting for item w ording effects with a latent method factor. In the group without any DSM-IV diagnosis, multiple linear regression results show ed that there w ere no significant correlation betw een the total sore of PDD and other associate variables such as urban-rural, gender, occupation, marital status, age, average earning and education years. The PDD scores w ere negatively correlated with the scores of know ledge of mental health( β =-0. 04,R2= 0. 02). Conclusion: It suggests that the PDD have good psychometrics properties, with acceptable reliability. The validity analysis results are consistent with previous studies, and the results of multiple linear regression are consistent to modified labeling theory. The PDD scale could be applicable to assess the stigma to mental illness in Chinese people." @default.
