- W2363104872 abstract "To provide a reference for application of exogenous Arg and Se in sheep husbandry,20 pregnant Hu Sheep ewes with similar weight and estrus synchronization were selected and allotted randomly into four groups(five in each group, fed the same basal diet),namely:Se group(supplemented with 0.2mg/kg of Se added to the basal diet every day during the 50 days of pregnancy to childbirth),Arg group(intravenous injection of 70mg/kg BW d of L-Arg every day during the 130 days of pregnancy to childbirth),the AS group(supplemented with 0.2mg/kg of Se added to the basal diet every day during the 50 days of pregnancy to childbirth,at the same time, intravenous injection of 70mg/kg BW d of L-Arg every day during the 130 days of pregnancy to childbirth),CK group(control check, fed a basal diet).Upon parturition, the blood of neonatal lambs in each group were collected immediately for analysis of the serum in order to explore the effects of exogenous L-Arg and Se with newborn lambs. The results showed that 1)Compared with CK group, the SOD activity of serum in AS group increased significantly(P0.05),the activity of serum GSH-Px in Se group and AS group increased most significantly(P0.01).2)In AS group, the levels of serum Arg were significantly higher than that of Se group(P0.05),most significantly higher than that of CK group(P 0.01),in Arg group, the levels of serum Arg were significantly higher than that of C group(P0.05),no significant differences were found compared with the other two groups(P0.05).The levels of serum Orn in Arg group and AS group were significantly higher than that of Se group and CK group(P0.05),the difference between Arg group and AS group were not significant(P0.05),no significant differences were found between Se group and CK group either(P0.05).3)The levels of serum Se in AS group and Se group were most significantly higher than that of Arg group and CK group(P0.01).Thus,adding Se to diets of pregnant Hu Sheep solely or intravenous injection of L-Arg simultaneously could both improve the anti-oxidative capacity of newborn lambs.Intravenous injection of L-Arg solely or adding Se to diets simultaneously made the levels of serum Arg and Orn of newborn lambs increased significantly, which would be beneficial to the growth of newborn lambs." @default.
