- W2363375974 abstract "Based on the findings of the very few randomized trials of bifurcation stenting techniques,a 2-stent technique provides no extra benefits compared to a single-stent technique. The provisional stenting of implanting one stent on the main branch is the default approach in most bifurcation lesions. However,in practice,20%~30% of true bifurcation lesions should be treated with 2 stents. There appears to be no downside to using 2 stents if required, even in the era of drug-eluting stent. The intention to treat technique should be the two-stent approach when the disease in the side branch extends beyond the ostium. The diameter (2.5mm) and territory of distribution are relatively large. So far, there is no solid data to support the supposition that two stents are more thrombogenic than one stent.Fully covering the lesions and final kissing balloon inflations are mandatory in the treatment of bifurcation lesions with two stents. It should also be noted that compliance with dual antiplatelet therapy plays a pivotal role in the treatment of bifurcation lesions." @default.
