• W2363662819 abstract "Objective To detect the change of serum inhibin (INH) in girls with idiopathic central precocious puberty (ICPP) before and after treatment of gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists (GnRHa) and to evaluatethe significance of serum INH level in diagnosis and monitoring therapy of ICPP. Methods A total of 129 girls with precocious puberty aged 6-9 years were divided into ICPP and premature thelarche (PT) according to the secondary sex characteristics, bone age, pelvis ultrasound and gonadorelin stimulation test. Thirty-one normal prepuberty girls aged 6-9 years were involved in the control group. Serum levels of INH_A and INH_B were measured by ELISA. The levels of INH_A and INH_B were re-measured in 29 ICPP girls by the end of 6 months treatmentwith GnRHa. Results (1) The levels of INH_B in ICPP group, PT group and controls were 52.73 ng/L, 32.00 ng/L and 8.95 ng/L respectively, showing significant differences among them (P0.05), while their levels of INH_A were 5.67 ng/L, 5.03 ng/L and 7.55 ng/L, showing no statisticed differences (P0.05). (2) In ICPP group, the INH_A and INH_B levels of those girls in TannerⅢ were 7.72 ng/L and 79.60 ng/L, being significantly higher than those of TannerⅡ (4.91 ng/L, 32.82 ng/L) (both P0.05=. No significant correlation was found between the levels of INH_A in TannerⅡ and the peak values of LH and FSH after GnRH stimulation test and their bone ages (all P0.05). However, positive correlation between the levels of INH_B in TannerⅡ and the peak value of LH and their bone ages were found with the Spearman correlation coefficients of 0.39 and 0.38 (both P0.05=. In contrast, positive correlation between the levels of INH_A in TannerⅢ and the peak value of LH and bone ages were shown with the Spearman correlation coefficients of 0.42 and 0.40 (both P0.05=, but there were no significant correlations between the levels of INH_B and the peak values of LH, FSH and bone ages (P0.05). (3) The serum levels of INH_Aand INH_Bin ICPP girls after treatment with GnRHa for 6 months were 4.12 ng/L and 26.97 ng/Lrespectively,beingsignificantlylowerthanthosebeforetreatment(7.72 ng/L, 92.63 ng/L, both P0.05=. Conclusions The serum levels of INH_Aand INH_Bin ICPP girls are closely associated with the activity of hypothalamic-pituitary-gonodal axis. Serum levels of INH, especially INH_B could serve as an early indicator for diagnosis and a means in evaluatingthe efficiency of GnRHa treatment in ICPP." @default.
