- W2363760275 abstract "On the basis of fixed-spot observation, and combining with introduction and cultivation, and the quantitative analysis, the coldness-resistance of 12 wintergreen groundcover plants were studied. The results showed that: (1) The outdoor winter-through observation results: the lowest atmospheric temperature was -8.4℃ in the winter of 2001, and 12 wintergreen groundcover plants all survived in the winter safely, and they restored to well growth in the Spring of the second year. Vinca major shoots and parts of the blades were frozen, Reineckea carnea above the 1/3 part of the foliages were frozen to be tan. Tradescantia virginiana above the 1/2 part of the foliages were also frozen to be black. Other kind of plants had no such frozen characteristics. (2) The method of electric conductivity to determine coldness-resistance: after -10℃ lowest temperature treatment, the order of those with strong coldness-resistance was Liriope minor Saxifraga stolonifera Carex leucochlora, and the others from strong to weak were as the following: Glechoma longituba Pachysandra terminalis Vinca major Sedum emarginatum Euonymus fortunei Ranunculus muricatus Tradescantia virginiana Reineckia carnea Polygonatum odoratum. (3) The method of TTC to determine root vigor: after -10℃ lowest temperature treatment, the order of those with strong coldness-resistance was Pachysandra terminalis Saxifraga stolonifera Euonymus fortunei Sedum emarginatum Liriope minor Glechoma longituba, and the others from strong to weak were as the following: Carex leucochlora Ranunculus muricatus Vinca major Reineckia carnea Tradescantia virginiana Polygonatum odoratum." @default.
