- W2364201976 abstract "Objective:To study the morphology of human umbilical cord vein with aging changes and provide the scientific evidence for clinic in collecting suitable blood grafts.Methods:Thirty three fresh human umbilical cord vein were collected and serially sectioned by paraffin section methods.Elastic fiber,collagen fiber and smooth muscle were stained by Weigert,Aniline Blue and Orange G respectively;At light microscopic level,geometry morphological index and areas of elastic fiber,collagen fiber and smooth muscle in media memberane were measured with image analysis system.Results:The diameter of umbilical vein,the thickness of media membane and the elastic fiber in media membane increased with aging changes;cellular nuclear numerical density (CNND) and the cellular nuclear area density (CNAD) and smooth muscle were greatest in 37～40 weeks;while collagen fiber were opposite;so compliance were best in this period.Conclusion:It suggest that the umbilical vein in 37 40 weeks should be selected as graft material." @default.
