- W2364277550 abstract "Objective:To investigate the clinical significance of enlarged left cardiac cavity in patients (pts) with dilated cardiomyopathy(DCM).Method:102 pts with DCM,78 males,24 females,aged (37±5) years,were retrospectively analyzed concerning the clinical features.Result:Of all the pts,76 pts were classified as NYHA functional Ⅲ～Ⅳ,and arrhythmias were observed in 93 pts ( 91.2 %),including 70 pts with ventricular arrhythmias,34 pts with supraventricular arrhythmias,and 42 pts with bradyarrhythmia.Left ventricular end diastolic diameter (LVED) was ( 69.4 ± 8.3 ) mm on average.Moderate and severe mitral regurgitation were found in 69 pts with a larger LVED( 72.8 ± 6.7 )mm (P 0.01 ).Markedly enlarged LVED( 72.8 ± 6.7 )mm and lowered left ventricular ejection fraction( 0.29 ± 0.11 ) were shown in pts with functional Ⅲ～Ⅳ (P 0.01 ).The left atrial diameter ( 51.2 ± 4.3 ) mm,LVED ( 73.1 ± 4.5 ) mm and functional Ⅲ～Ⅳ of 19 pts with atrial fibrillation were distinctive from those without (P 0.05 ).Four pts died during hospitalization,three pts suffered from aborted sudden death.Conclusion:Most pts with DCM clinically manifested moderate and severe heart failure,complex arrhythmias,even sudden death,which were related to the extent of enlarged left cardiac cavity size." @default.
