- W2364772207 abstract "Uranium is intimately associated with organic substances at many sandstone-type uranium deposits.Organic substances in Xihuliu basin are of humic type derived from advanced plants such as coniferals and ferns.Reflectance of vitrinite analysis, color of organic debris,X-ray diffraction analysis of clay minerals and geothermal reconstruction show the low maturity of organic substances being at the unmatured to low-matured early stage. The type and the maturity resulted in the generation of large amount of humic acid during thermal evolution that could be preserved in strata.Lignitous coal, humic acid, fragments of plant remnants and asphalt are main forms of existing organic substances.Besides those coal beds, organic substances are distributed mostly in detrital and disperse states in strata. The abundance of organic substances in most(70%)sandstones ranges from 0.1% to 3%,which is favorable for the formation of uranium mineralization. The close association and positive correlation between uranium and organic substances perform important functions of organic substances in uranium ore-formation.The humic acid in organic substances plays the most important role in uranium ore-formation,because the adsorbents in organic clay,in the altered rock debris,in plant fragments and in asphalt are of humic nature.Having been adsorbed, the uranium could be reduced by humic acid,or uranyl cations can be in complexation with organic substances to form uranyl humates resulting in the precipitation and concentration of uranium." @default.
