- W2364972017 abstract "Aim:To explore the effects of resveratrol (RES) on the learning memory performance and oxidative stress in lead exposure mice. Methods: Fifty Kunming mice were randomly divided into five groups, which were control group, lead exposure only group (Pb), low (L), middle (M), and high (H) dose RES interfering groups. The mice were allowed freely to drink water. After eight weeks feeding, Morris water maze (MWM) test was employed to evaluate the learning memory ability of the mice. The lead levels in blood and hippocampus were analyzed by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry. Serum and hippocampal SOD activity and MDA level were measured. Results: MWM test showed that the escape latency among the 5 groups had significant differences (F=9.044,P0.001). The lead levels in blood and hippocampus had significant differences (F=24.142 and 17.511,P0.001).Compared with Pb group,the lead levels in hippocampus of RES interfering groups reduced (P0.05). The SOD activity in blood and hippocampus showed significant differences among groups (F=35.190 and 11.933,P0.001). The MDA levels also showed significant differences among groups (F=5.610 and 4.406,P0.05). Compared with control group,the serum and hippocampal SOD activity significantly decreased in Pb group and the three RES interfering groups (P0.05). Compared with Pb group,the SOD activity in M and H groups significantly increased (P0.05). Conclusion: RES could reduce the lead levels in blood and hippocampus, reverse the learning memory damage in lead exposure mice,as well as increase SOD activity and reduce the level of MDA." @default.
