- W2364986857 abstract "To study the mechanisms of cerium affecting the physical performance of rebar,0.23C-0.36Si-0.56 Mn steel samples with different content of cerium addition were prepared by smelting and casting in a vacuum induction furnace. Optical Microscope( OM),Scanning Electron Microscope( SEM) and Energy Disperse Spectroscopy( EDS),and a series of mechanical tests were employed to investigate the effects of cerium on microstructures and mechanical properties of the specimens. The results show that,when the content of Ce is within 0 ~ 0.01%,the cleanness of the steels increases,the grain size of ferrites decreases from 19. 65 μm to9.65 μm,the proportion of inclusion area decreases from 0. 058% to 0. 028% and the 10 μm angular Al2O3 inclusion and strip Mn S inclusion are transformed into 1 μm spherical 86.72% Al2O3- 13.28% Ce2O3 inclusions and Mn S inclusions containing Ce. Tensile tests and impact tests show that the tensile strength,yield strength and impact energy of the specimens with 0. 01% Ce addition increase by 16. 95%,20. 81% and 91. 94%,respectively,compared with those of Ce-free specimens. The elongation to failure( 21. 85%) exceeds the standard value of that of HRB400 steels( 17%)." @default.
