- W2365004003 abstract "Objective:To summarize the experience of early methylprednisolone pulse therapy to ASCI and guide our future treatment.Method:A retrospective analysis was made on 50 ASCI patients from March 2009 to March 2010 admitted in our hospital.The fourteen patients in Group A(control group) did not receive methylprednisolone(MP) pulse therapy.Patients in group B and C received MP pulse therapy.There were 20 patients in Group B(injury treatment time 3 h) and 16 patients in Group C(injury treatment time 3～8 h).There was no significant difference in general data between three groups(P0.05).All the patients in treatment groups were given MP pulse therapy recommended by NASCIS II.Spinal canal decompression,bone transplantation,and internal fixation were performed at the same time.During the treatment procedure,anti-inflammatory,hemostasis,dehydration,mechanical ventilation,stress ulcer prevention and nutritional support were also given respectively.Neurological function score systems of American Spinal Injury Association(ASIA),Japanese Orthopaedic Association(JOA) and activity of daily living(ADL) were evaluated before treatment,two week and one year after treatment.Result:There was no significant difference in the score before treatment(P0.05).However,the scores of the treatment groups at two weeks and one year after treatment were better than those of the control group(P0.01).The scores of treatment groups were much higher than those before treatment(P0.01).Group B had higher scores than group C at every time point after treatment(P0.01).Conclusion:Early diagnosis,intervention and prevention of complications is key to successful treatment of ASCI." @default.
