- W2365140948 abstract "Objective To introduce the characteristics and treatment outcome of neurolysis using mini-traumatechniques in treatment of nerve compression syndrome in extremities. Methods Eighty-four cases of nervecompression syndrome were involved in the study, including compression of brachial plexus, carpal tunnel syndrome,cubital tunnel syndrome and the common fibular compression syndrome. Small incision 3～5 cm in length was done atthe location of compression. Under the pull by the righ angle retractor, the carpal palmar ligments, cubital tunnel andfibular tunnel were divided. The compressed nerve was exposed progressively. The epineurium neurolysis was carriedout under the 6 magnification loupe. Results The follow-up ranged from 3 to 24 months. In 21 brachial plexus nerveand vessel compresssion syndrome the symptoms were improved obviously in 17 case, slightly in 2. No improvementoccurred in 2 cases. Among 25 cases of cubital tunnel syndrome, there was total recovery in 5, marked improvement in18, no improvement in 2. Among 27 cases of carpal tunnel syndrome, 11 cases had complete disappearance ofsyndrome, and 16 had obvious improvement. In 11 cases of the common fibular nerve compression syndrome, there wassignificant improvement in 6 cases, Partial improvement in 3 and no improvement in 2. Conclusion The epineuriumneurolysis using small incsion and microsurgical techniques is a good method for treatment of nerve compressionsyndrome in extremities." @default.
