- W2365535688 abstract "A total of 96 SD rats (28±2-day-old) with no bacteria infecting were randomly divided into six groups (n=16).Treated rats drank the water which supplemented with 40,80,160,320 and 640 mg/L boron,respectively,and the control rats received distilled water for 2 months.At the end of experiment time,the rats were made into narcosis with 10% chloral hydrate,then the tongue and stomach were obtained after dissection,then the samples were made into paraffin sections,observed and photographed under Olympus CH-30 microphotograph system.Results as follows:In experiment group Ⅰ and Ⅱ,the mucosa membrane structure of tongue and stomach developed well,the filiform and fungiform papilla in mucosa membrane of tongue became higher and wider,the volume of taste bud increased and the structure were integrity,the parietal cell in caudomedial part of fundic gland grew in number and aligned regularly.In experiment group from Ⅲ to Ⅴ,the pathological changes of the mucosa membrane structure of tongue and stomach exhibited a certain direct correlation relation with the supplementation dose of boron,so the pathological changes of them in experiment Ⅴ were most severe.Under the light microscope,the follow pathological changes in experiment group Ⅴ could be observed,the numbers of filiform papilla decreased and the top of most filiform papilla dissolved or disappeared,the fungiform papilla became constrictive and the taste bud in them atrophied,the cells in taste bud were parce and the structure of them became undefined; the damage of gastric mucosa were severe,the stratified squamous epithelium of esophageal region in some rats appeared proliferative,the simple columnar epithelium of cardiac gland region in some rats became stratified epithelium by metaplasia; in fundic gland region,the cells of epithelium mucosae were degenerated,necrotic,or even caduceus,and the structure of gastric pits were damaged,the fundic gland atrophied and the glandular cavity were expanded and irregular,the chief cells and parietal cells in fundic gland were different in size for atrophying,and the volumes of nuclei in these cells were also different for karyopycnosis.The results indicated that the adequate boron supplemented in drinking could promote obviously the development and function of lingual mucous membrane and gastric mucosa in rats,but the high dose boron supplementation could cause different degree damage,or even exhibit obvious toxic effect." @default.
