- W2366602160 abstract "Four submerged intake models, which are large offset and highly compact, are designed by means of dynamic S duct designing method. The influences of same factors, which are the mouth shape, the wide of the inner passage, the shape of central line and the passage section etc., on the performances of the submerged inlet are investigated experimentally in a low speed free jet tunnel with a Mach number of 0.1. The results show that the mouth shape has significant effect on the performances of the intake. The efficiency can be increased by 5.5% and the distortion DC 60 can be reduced by 40.1% when the mouth shape is modified. The optimal mouth size is recommended as following: S/S 0=0.95? B/B 0=1.11～1.17? b/b 0=1.15. The experimental results also indicated that the width and the area distribution of the passage section have important effect on the efficiency and distortion of the inlet. The model designed with a centerline of rapid turning at the entrance and a modest area change from the diffuser entrance to exit obtains the highest performance." @default.
