- W2366660815 abstract "Hotspots and thermal cracks are the common thermal damages to the friction surfaces of brake discs during service.Through combining thermal-mechanical coupling simulation and theoretical analysis,the thermal damages of the aluminium alloy and forged steel brake discs were compared and the effects of material properties on the thermal damages of the friction surfaces were studied.The results show as follows: Under the same braking conditions,the thermal damages of the friction surfaces of the aluminium alloy brake discs are obviously less than the forged steel brake discs;the friction surfaces of the aluminium alloy brake discs are free from thermal cracks and hotspots or a large number of hotspots due to the low Young's modulus and good thermal conductivity of aluminium alloy." @default.
