- W2367313824 abstract "Objective To compare the effects of fentanyl and remifentanil on the hemodynamic response in pediatric patients and the changes in plasma concentration of blood sugar and cortisol during anesthesia.Methods Eighty ASAⅠ-Ⅲ patients aged between 2～8 years,weighing 8～23 kg,were randomly divided into two groups of 40 each.The remifentanil group(group A)were given anesthetic induction and maintenance with remifentanil,while the fentanyl group(group B)were given anesthetic induction and maintenance with remifentanil,the anaesthetic induction and maintenance phase,SBPDBP,HR,the plasma concentrations of blood sugar and cortisol,the time of restoration to consciousness and extubation,and the side-effect were recorded.Results There was less circulatory fluctuation,faster restoration to consciousness with lower incidence of nausea and vomiting and fewer post-operative complications in the group A than in group B.Blood sugar levels increased significantly after intubation in both groups,blood sugar levels in group B were significantly higher at each time point after intubation in group B than in group A(P0.001).Cortisol levels in group B were significantly higher at each time point after intubation than in group A(P0.001).There was no significant change in cortisol levels at different time points in group A.Conclusions Remifentanil produces superior and safer anesthesia with fewer side effects than fentanyl and depresses the stress response effectively in pediatric patients during general anesthesia;it is an ideal drug for pediatric anesthesia." @default.
