- W2367333503 abstract "The Southern Jiangsu's GDP occupied 6.26% of that in the whole country with only 0.29% of the total land and 1.74% of total population in 2005.The GDP per capita increased above 15% annually in Southern Jiangsu during the years of 2000 and 2005.The good socioeconomic developing situation in this area benefited from good weather,convenient communications and harmony in the residents.Peasant-workers in the Southern Jiangsu are very important factors in socioeconomic development.This area was one of the earliest and best areas in Family Planning Program.It birth rate has become lower and lower and the family size has become smaller and smaller,thus there has been a serious shortage of man power.The annual natural increase rate of the population was 1.54‰ between the years of 2000 and 2005,which occupied only one third of the average increase rate of the whole country.The rapid development of social economy,especially construction and manufacture in Southern Jiangsu,has attracted a lot of laborers out of the area.According to a sample survey in 2005,the percentage of the floating population increased from 22% in 2000 to 28% in 2005.The annual average increase rate of the floating population in this area was 6.7% during 2000 and 2005.The floating population's contribution occupies 38% of the total in municipal construction and economic development of the areas,but they also have sharpened the serious situation of the limited public resources and ecological resources." @default.
