- W2367768668 abstract "Objective To investigate the psychological status and suicidal problems among adolescents in Zhejiang Province. Methods Chinese version of 12 items General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12) was adapted to apply in 1194 randomly sampled adolescents aged 15～19. Results Among these 1194 adolescents 60.7% were students. While 2/3 cut-off score was used, 23.2% of the adolescents were GHQ-12 positive. The prevalence of cases who ever had suicidal idea, ever had detailed suicidal plan and ever had attempted suicide were 3.9%, 0.6% and 0.3% respectively. 1.9% had self-reportedly poor physical condition while 2.3% had self-reportedly poor psychological condition. The prevalence of cases who ever had suicidal idea, ever had detailed suicidal plan and ever had attempted suicide reached 9.4%, 2.2% and 1.1% correspondingly among 227 GHQ-12 positive cases where self-reportedly poor physical and psychological conditions were as high as 5.4% and 7.6%. Conclusion There are high prevalence of psychological problems and considerable proportion of suicidal problems among the adolescents in Zhejiang. [" @default.
