- W2367888992 abstract "Objective To investigate the tobacco use status in rural areas,analyze the influencing factors,and provide evidences for policy making. Methods A total of 1,837 rural residents aged above 13 years were randomly selected in the 5 villages from 5 counties in Qingdao to conduct questionnaire survey. Results The total smoking rate of rural residents was 26.8%,the current smoking rate was 23.2%,and the heavy smoking rate was 10.4%.Most of smokers aged between 40～49 years were heavy smokers.The passive smoking rate was 41.6%.Residential house was the main passive smoking place,which accounted for 29.1%. Conclusions Smoking and passive smoking situation in rural areas of Qingdao is far from optimistic.For lowering smoking rate and reducing passive smoking hazards,it is necessary to combine with the actual situation in rural areas,strengthen policy guidance,and develop directive individual health education of tobacco control and health promotion in residents with different ages." @default.
