- W2368165763 abstract "Objective To discuss clinical significance of measurement of serum homocysteine level in patients with acute coronary syndrome. Methods 146 ACS patients from June 2010 to June 2012 in the Sixth People's Hospital of Naihai District in Foshan City were selected. They were divided into unstable angina(UA) group with 85 cases and acute myocardial infarction(AMI) group with 61 cases. According to the number of affected coronary branches verified, 107 patients were divided into one branch group(29 cases), two branches group(37 cases), three and more than three branches group(41 cases). 60 healthy individuals were chosen as control group. Level of serum Hcy was measured in all groups. Results Level of serum Hcy in UA group [(16.12 ±5.49) μmol/L] and AMI group [(21.01±6.52) μmol/L] were higher than that in control control [(10.89±3.91) μmol/L], the differences were statistically significant(P 0.05); the differences of serum Hcy between UA group and AMI group was statistically significant(P 0.05). The differences of levels of serum Hcy in one branch group [(13.18±4.92) μmol/L], two branches group [(16.04±3.21) μmol/L] and three and more than three branches group [(21.86±4.93) μmol/L] were statistically significant(F = 19.251, P 0.05); the levels of serum Hcy in two branches group and three and more than three branches group were higher than those in one branch group, the levels of serum Hcy in three and more than three branches group was higher than that in two branches group, the differences were statistically significant(P 0.05); the levels of serum Hcy in three groups was higher than that in control group, the differences were statistically significant(P 0.05). Conclusion The level of serum Hcy in ACS patients is significantly higher than that in normal people, and it is related to the number of coronary artery. The measurement of serum Hcy level can play an important role in the prevention, treatment and monitoring for ACS." @default.
