- W2369016981 abstract "Visual display units（VDUs） are susceptive to extremely low frequency ELF magnetic fields． They are themselves a source of ambient electromagnetic fields． A test rig was built to study the susceptibility of VDUs to magnetic fields at fundamental and third harmonic frequencies． The susceptibility and emission of 36 VDUs in 9 models from 5 manufacturers are evaluated experimentally． The measured results were compared with the limits in IEC and MPR Ⅱ standards． It was found that the susceptibility level is largely dependent on refresh rate of the VDU and the orientation of the external ELF field． The VDU susceptibility is significantly increased in the presence of harmonic frequency magnetic fields．" @default.
