- W2369419739 abstract "The characters of seed shape,nutrition component,factors affecting the physiological variations of alfalfa seeds and the relationship between the yield of seeds and other characters of alfalfa are discussed in this paper.Alfalfa(Medicago sativa) is a forage grass of high quality.It's nutrition components in seeds are rich and in balance.The seed vigor of alfalfa is correlated negatively to temperature,seed moisture content and infection of seed-borne fungi.However,the yield of seeds is correlated positively to the inflorescences per plant,flowers per inflorescence,pods per plant,seeds per pod and thousand-grain weight.Lanthanon solution of 0.03% and paclobutrazol solution of 0.05% applied to alfalfa through spraying on leaf surfaces for improving the effects on seed yield significantly.Heavy metal ions(Cd2+,Zn2+,Cu2+,La3+,Al3+,etc) have serious effects on the seed vigor,and there are obviously interactions among the ions.The germination of seed is deferred as the salt concentration level goes up,with the semi-critical salt concentration being 0.6%～1.0%,allelochemicals could have significant allelopathic effects on seed germination." @default.
