- W2369658906 abstract "OBJECTIVE To explore distribution and drug resistance of pathogenic bacteria causing secondary urinary tract infections in patients with diabetes mellitus(DM),so as to provide the basis for clinical use of antibiotics to control the urinary tract infections in diabetes.METHODS The medical records of 288cases of hospitalized diabetics with urinary tract infections were analyzed retrospectively. The inoculation and bacterial counting were carried out strictly according to National Guide to Clinical Laboratory Procedures. The VITER-32automatic microorganism identification system(BioMerieux)was used to identify the bacteria strains. The drug susceptibility testing was performed by K-B methods recommended by CLSI.The WHONET 5.5software was used to deal with the data.RESULTS Among the 288strains of pathogenic bacteria causing urinary tract infections,Escherichia coli(181strains were isolated, occupied 62.8%)rated the top one. Then Enterococcus(33strains were isolated, occupied 11.5%)rated the second. All strains of pathogenic bacteria causing secondary urinary tract infections were severely resistant to the other commonly used antibiotics except for 100.0%susceptibility of gramnegative rods to imipenem and meropenem and 100.0% susceptibility of gram-positive cocci to vancomycin and teicoplanin.Isolating rate of methicillin-resistant coagulase negative Staphyloccus(MRCNS)was 50.0%. Detection rate of ESBLs-producing ECO and KPN was 48.5%.CONCLUSIONThe intestinal flora predominate in pathogenic bacteria causing urinary tract infections in diabetics. There is no distinct difference of pathogenic bacteria causing urinary tract infections between diabetics and other patients.Drug resistance of pathogenic bacteria causing urinary tract infections is very serious in diabetics.Hospital should strengthen administration to restrain the rapidly increasing tendency of antimicrobial resistance." @default.
