- W2369682020 abstract "Objective To explore the nutritional therapy and nursing of patients with persistent vegetative state.Method 40 cases of patients with persistent vegetative state were given regular fluids(gruel and broth) by nasal feeding in the first two weeks,six meals a day and 200～250 mL every meal;in the later four weeks the patients were given baby cereal 40 g and ensure powder 20 g every day by nasal feeding,six meals a day.Patients' relevant indexes of serum albumin(ALB),mid-upper arm muscle circumference(AMC),triceps skin-fold thickness(TSF) and body weight etc.were observed.Results Regular nasal feeding cost $35.0 and 2.5 hours every day;nutritional therapy by nasal feeding cost $37.5 and 1 hour every day.By regular nasal feeding,ALB,AMC,TSF and body weight in second week had no statistically significant differences(P0.05);after nasal feeding baby cereal and ensure powder,relevant indexes were higher than those of regular nasal feeding except for no significant increase of AMC in the 4th week,and indexes of the 6th week was higher than those of the 4th week and the differences were statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion Nasal feeding of baby cereal plus ensure powder provides nutritional support so as to effectively improve the nutrition status of patients,enhance body's immunity and save time." @default.
