- W2369939470 abstract "OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of escitalopram in the treatment of depression. METHODS: 70 inpatients with depression were randomly assigned to either trial group (n = 36) receiving escitalopram for 6 weeks or control group ( n = 34) receiving fluoxetine for 6 weeks. The curative efficacy and adverse reactions were assessed with HAMD,HAMA,CGI - SI and TESS at 0,2,4 and 6 weeks of treatment. RESULTS: At 6 weeks, the HAMD and HAMA scores of both groups were significantly lower compared with before treatment,and the differences were significant (t = 8. 7 ～ 14. 5,P 0. 01). There were significant differences between the two groups in HAMD and HAMA scores at 2,4 and 6 weeks ( t = 2. 23 ～ 3. 99,P 0. 05 ～ P 0. 01) and in the response rate (86% vs. 65% ,χ2 = 4. 36,P 0. 05); however,there were no significant differences in the incidences of adverse reactions ( χ2 = 0. 17,P 0. 05 ).
