• W2370296521 abstract "The mother ingots with different microstructures were obtained by varying the number of repeated melting times. It was found that the ingot microstructure becomes finer and finer as the repeated melting times increase. The influence of the ingot microstructure on the glass forming ability of Zr60Al15Ni25 alloy was investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The results indicate that, as the ingot microstructure becomes finer, the corresponding glassy alloy shows higher glass transition temperature Tg and reduced glass transition temperature Trg. Besides, the fusion enthalpy ΔHf of the alloy with a finer microstructure reduces, suppressing the nucleation of the primary phase during the solidification process of the liquid alloy, which makes the formation of glassy phase easier. The finer ingot microstructure leads to the smaller size of shortrange orders in the corresponding liquid at the same casting temperature. After the subsequent solidification, the shortrange orders frozen in the glassy alloy become smaller, which makes the rearrangement of atoms more difficult during the crystallization of the glassy alloy.
