- W2370791356 abstract "Objective In simulated oral environment,to compare elastic property of different nickel-titanium archwires when combined with Damon self-ligating brackets. Methods Universal material testing equipment was used to conduct a bending test in a modified dental mold to detect the elasticity of Damon self-ligating brackets(3MX,ormco,USA)and compared between group A(including subgroups A1:0.356 mm copper Ni-Ti wires,A2:0.356 mm heat-actived Ni-Ti wires,and A3:0.356 mm superelastic Ni-Ti wires)and group B(including subgroups B1:0.356mm×0.635 mm copper Ni-Ti wires,B2:0.406 mm heat-actived Ni-Ti wires,and B3:0.406 mm superelastic Ni-Ti wires)in six kinds of Ni-Ti archwires. Results Of the six types of Nickel-Titanium arch wires tested,all showed possesing hyperelasticity.In subgroup A1,the lagged value was lower than that in subgroup A3(F=7.614,q=5.493,P0.01).There was no significant differences among the platform stress and the platform length(F=1.670,2.619;P0.05).In subgroup B1,the lagged value was higher than that in subgroups B2 and B3(F=25.714;q=8.150,9.302;P0.01).The platform stress values from largest to smallest were:B1B3B2(F=78.413,P0.01)(q=7.668-17.652,P0.01).There was no significant differences among the three subgroups in platform length(F=2.025,q=0.252-2.576,P0.05). Conclusion Under the simulated oral environment,when Damon self-ligating brackets are used,the strength of 0.356 mm heat-activated Ni-Ti wires(IMD),0.356 mm copper Ni-Ti wires(ormco)and 0.406 mm heat-actived Ni-Ti wires is stable and gentle,being suitable for early alignment." @default.
